COMING SOON…the new ONLINE APPRENTICESHIP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Overview

The Apprenticeship Management System (AMS) is an online administrative system that is being developed by the provinces of Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.

When will AMS be up and running? AMS is expected to go-live in 2023.

Benefits of AMS

AMS users will benefit from enhanced service delivery from the Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Division (ATCD) through streamlined processes and 24/7 online access. AMS benefits everyone by:

  • enhancing engagement and communication,
  • streamlining processes, and
  • providing access to reliable information.

All Clients including apprentices, trade qualifiers, pre-apprentices, power engineers and blasters will have access to track and manage information in real time, giving them an active role in their journey. You will use this new online system to:

  • complete applications and employer transfers,
  • access your progress summary,
  • track progress with an online logbook of hours, skills, training and exams,
  • register for training,
  • view exam results, and
  • enjoy communication advancements.

Employers will have access to track and manage information in real time. You will use this new online system to:

  • access your apprentice’s information at a glance,
  • stay in tune with the progress of your apprentice,
  • update hours in the online logbook,
  • enroll clients into training,
  • view the training schedule,
  • manage Memorandums of Understanding (agreements), and
  • make requests online.

Journeypersons will have access to their files and be connected to those they supervise. You will use the new online system to:

  • approve skills through the online logbook,
  • obtain and renew ID cards, and
  • request replacement certificates.
