Exchange
Interprovincial Certificate
Applicants seeking to exchange an interprovincial certificate obtained from another jurisdiction within Canada must provide evidence of this certification.
Provincial Certificate
Applicants seeking to exchange a provincial certificate in an interprovincial occupation obtained from another jurisdiction within Canada (other than those in a bilateral agreement between this province and another), must provide evidence of equivalence of the certification to the Provincial Apprenticeship and Certification Board (PACB), and write the interprovincial examination.
Applicants seeking to exchange a provincial certificate in either a provincial or interprovincial occupation obtained from an Atlantic province will be granted equivalent certificates without examinations.
The trades that are listed under the Quebec/Newfoundland and Labrador Mobility Agreement are recognized for equivalency, therefore provincial exchange certificates may be issued. When evidence provided is verified and approved by the Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Division, an equivalent certificate is issued.
Other Countries
Applicants seeking transfer of their certification from another country must provide evidence of equivalence and verification of the required work experience to the PACB and successfully complete the interprovincial or provincial examination.
Revocation
Where evidence supports a finding of fraud by the applicant regarding the issuing of a certificate, the PACB may revoke the certificate.
