Project Description:
The proponent has submitted a five-year operating plan for Forest Management District 19. Planning District 19 encompasses central Labrador and is generally bounded to the by the Mulligan and Red Wine Rivers to the north, by the height of land that separates the Kenamu River watershed from those flowing into the Labrador Sea to the east, by the height of land that separates the Gulf Watershed from those flowing into the Labrador Sea to the south, and by a line at longitude 61º 45′ to the west. The plan includes a description of proposed commercial and domestic timber harvesting, the construction of forest access roads and silviculture activities. The plan covers the period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2027.
