Protective Community Residences

These are specially designed and staffed homes that provide specialized care and accommodation for individuals with mild to moderate dementia. They are equipped with safety features specific to the security needs of persons with dementia in a home like environment.

Admission to a protective community residence is based on an assessment conducted by staff of the regional health authorities. A financial assessment is also completed to determine if and how much the individual must pay.

These homes are located in and operated by the Western Regional Health Authority. For more information contact the Western Regional Health Authority.
