Acute Health Services and Nursing Policy

The Acute Health Services and Nursing Policy Division is responsible for providing advisory and consulting support to the regional health authorities and agencies to enable them to deliver quality health care to the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador within available resources. Acute health facilities, the Road and Air Ambulance Program, the Provincial Blood Coordinating Program and Health Emergency Management fall within this division’s mandate. The division monitors the operations of the regional health authorities, in collaboration with the Financial Services Division, to ensure that the health and community services system is responsive to the needs of the population and quality programs and services are available to residents throughout the province.
