The Medical Services Division is responsible for the development and maintenance of insured medical service programs to beneficiaries as defined under the Canada Health Act. The division develops and implements guidelines and procedures for both salaried, fee-for-service and alternate pay physicians and is involved in negotiations with the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association (NLMA). The division is also responsible for the Medical Student and Resident Bursary program.
